Columbia Farmers Market

SNAP Matching Programs

At CFM, we believe that all people deserve to eat great, local food.

That’s why SNAP and WIC benefits are exchangeable at the market for tokens. The Access to Healthy Food (AHF) program matches up to $35.

AHF helps families living in low-income households with young children, seniors, and people with disabilities, access healthy food by matching SNAP and WIC benefits at Columbia Farmers Market. Families that receive SNAP and/or WIC benefits with children under the age of 19, seniors, and people with disabilities can double their benefits up to $35 at each market.

Come see what options Columbia Farmers Market has available for you and your family!

Access to Healthy Food

Who?

  • Families with children 19 and under, live in Boone County and receive SNAP or WIC benefits.
  • People with disabilities, receive SNAP benefits and live in Boone County.
  • Seniors (60+ older) that receive SNAP benefits and live in Boone County.
  • SFMNP & WIC-FMNP voucher recipients

HOW?

  • Bring your EBT card or your WIC packet to the Oasis booth at the Columbia Farmers Market, along with proof of Boone County residency (current utility bill, rent or mortgage receipt, personal bill, pay stub, etc.).
  • Market staff will ask you to fill out a registration form and then give you an Access to Healthy Food participant card.  Speed up the registration process by completing this registration form in advance. Bring the completed form to the market staff at the Oasis booth and they'll finalize the enrollment.
  • To receive matching benefits you must bring this card weekly.  Swipe your EBT card for any amount or provide a cash match for WIC matching* and receive up to a $35 match in tokens.  Spend tokens with CFM vendors for any SNAP-eligible products!
  • *Missouri farmers’ markets are not allowed to accept WIC benefits.  Participants must provide a cash match to receive matching dollars.
  • SFMNP & WIC-FMNP recipients can learn how to receive matching funds here.

You can apply for SNAP through a local SNAP office or through the Columbia Resource Center at Parkade Center. Applying for SNAP is an 8-page application that can be done online, in person, or via email. There will then be an interview by phone or in person.

AHF is supported by individual contributions, fundraising, the Boone County Children’s Services Fund, the Veterans United Foundation, and Nourish Cafe + Market.

Thank you to our Oasis booth sponsor, Renewal by Anderson.  This booth is the hub for all of our food incentive programs.
