HEDGE HOLLER HARVEST, LLC: Locally grown, raised, and made

Hedge Holler Harvest, LLC is a farm owned by Matt and Leah Van Schyndel. They were both raised on farms in Audrain County, Missouri.  Their small family farm offers produce, eggs, goat, chicken, beef, lamb, and a line of body care items that include goat milk soap, goat milk body butter, and more.

Taking care of the soil to help create a better harvest is a priority at the farm.  Farming methods include no till, no pesticides, and no chemical fertilizers.  Matt and Leah focus on feeding the soil to encourage microbe and worm growth. Beneficial insects like Lady Bugs and Praying Mantes are their friends in the high tunnels! They have found that their produce is sweeter, and plants are healthier.

The Van Schyndels believe that livestock are meant to be raised off the land.  Their livestock are finished using a unique mixture of grass and grains. Their Red Angus/South Poll cross cattle are on a high-density intensified grazing program, and all breeding stock are grass-fed only.

"Neither of us have jobs off our farm," says Leah.  "We rely on local farmers markets, local shops, and loyal customers from surrounding communities for all our sales."  Information and short video clips of their farm shenanigans can be found on their YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, or website: HEDGEHOLLERHARVEST.COM.
